Oh hey everyone. Welcome back to the blog! I know it’s been a long time coming. It took a while to get my season started, but once I did, it’s been full speed ahead and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
My season started officially on June 16th, a record late start date, but day two I already took advantage of a really unique opportunity, being involved with a film monitoring permit with a well-known Youtuber, Mark Rober. He is known for making creative videos, and the one he filmed on the island was recreating the 1962 Escape from Alcatraz story. The video should come out early next year, and I had so much fun hanging out on the island late into the night, checking out behind the scenes areas and taking a private boat back to the mainland at midnight.

Now this was a very unusual but exciting start to my season, but it was so fun to be involved in it. Since then, my weeks have been filled with trainings, on the job learning and finally writing and giving some of my own programs.

The crew is very dynamic and I have befriended some really cool coworkers. The staff has a lot of neat gals that I spend a lot of time with and it makes the job more fun of course!

I also have been lucky enough to have some fun visitors. My parents came to visit with their deaf friends, and my brother Jacob and his girlfriend Emily came to visit when they were home for a wedding. The funny thing is these visitors came a day apart but I wouldn’t want anything else!

I am focusing on soaking up the time I have at work since it will be a short season. I am looking forward to graduate school this fall and pursing my Masters in Parks and Recreation.
Thanks so much for following along the journey for the past few years. This is Ranger Rachel Baer signing off, until next time, Ranger On!
Matthew and I have loved reading every blog and story of your adventures! Best wishes as you finish off this season and continue on your next great big adventure!❤️🤠
Following our traveling ranger through a myriad of adventures has been fun, informative, and awesome! May each of the chapters that follow in your life encourage you to “keep exploring and conquering” the trail!
